Tony Stark (Iron Man)

Tony Stark is a super genius playboy philanthropist. He was captured by the Ten Rings organization and held prisoner which prompted him to create the very first Iron Man suit. Since then, Tony has helped defeat villains such as Obadiah Stane, Whiplash, Aldrich Killian, and Loki. Tony is in a relationship with Pepper Potts and counts James Rhodes as one of his best friends and allies. He is a part of the Avengers along with Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. He also considers Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Happy Hogan as close friends and allies. He is currently without any Iron Man suits and is trying to make the world as peaceful as possible. 

Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow)

Natasha Romanoff is a trained assassin who spent many years working for the "bad guys." With everything she was doing, she quickly was on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar. They sent Hawkeye to kill her, but he made a different call and recruited her to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. She has helped take down villains such as Whiplash, Loki, Alexander Pierce, and HYDRA as a whole. She is part of the Avengers along with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Hawkeye. She also counts Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Falcon, Pepper Potts, Iron Patriot, and Happy Hogan as allies and close friends. With the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., all of Natasha's identities have been compromised and she is now off in hiding.

Nick Fury

Nick Fury is the baddest man on the planet when he chooses to be. He is an ex-military man turned head of S.H.I.E.L.D. He has helped take down villains such as Loki, Alexander Pierce, and the Clairvoyant. He helped form the Avengers team and knows they will always be around to help protect the Earth. His other allies include Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, the Falcon, Erik Selvig, Jane Foster, Melinda May, Skye, Jemma Simmons, Antoine Triplett, and Leo Fitz. With S.H.I.E.L.D. now gone, Fury has set out to destroy the rest of HYDRA and keep up the perception of him being dead. 

James Rhodes (Iron Patriot)

"Rhodey" has been on of Tony Stark's best friends for quite a while. Rhodes is currently an Air Force officer. He got his first taste using an Iron Man suit in Iron Man 2 when he became War Machine. Due to public perception, the suit was given a makeover and now goes by Iron Patriot. Rhodes has helped Stark take down villains like Whiplash and Aldrich Killian. His allies include Iron Man, Pepper Potts, and Happy Hogan. It seems he will get his chance to fight alongside the Avengers sooner rather than later.

Pepper Potts

Pepper Potts was just Tony Stark's secretary and girl friend until Tony decided to make a change. She is now the CEO of Stark Industries. She has gotten into plenty of trouble over the years. She was almost killed by Obadiah Stane and got injected with Extremis during Iron Man 3. Tony figured out how to remove the Extremis from her body and she is now helping him build Avengers Tower. She has gathered many allies throughout the years including Tony Stark, James Rhodes, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Happy Hogan, and Maria Hill. 

Senator Stern

Senator Stern is a US Senator who has a strong dislike for Tony Stark. He repeatedly tried to take the Iron Man suit away from Tony Stark but ultimately failed. He was revealed to be a HYDRA supporter and was taken into custody after S.H.I.E.L.D. fell.

Justin Hammer

Justin Hammer is the CEO of H.A.M.M.E.R. Industries. He recruited Ivan Vanko to help him take down Tony Stark. When Vanko betrayed him, Hammer was arrested and sent to Seagate Prison. He is currently serving his sentence there but may have escaped when the Ten Rings broke out Trevor Slattery.

Happy Hogan

Happy Hogan is one of Tony Stark's closest friends. He has been his body guard for years and helped Tony out countless times. He currently is the head of security for Stark Industries and protects Pepper Potts and Tony Stark. 

Trevor Slattery

Trevor Slattery was an actor with nothing really to show for it until Aldrich Killian came knocking. Thanks to Killian's resources, he posed as the leader of the Ten Rings organization, the Mandarin. He was arrested for all the bombings he led while posing as the Mandarin. He was taken to Seagate Prison where the real Mandarin developed a plan for his Ten Rings members to kidnap him.

Jackson Norris

Jackson Norris is a member of the Ten Rings organization. He posed as a film maker to get close to Trevor Slattery so he could kidnap him and break him out of Seagate Prison. He is bringing Slattery to the real Mandarin.

Christine Everhart

Christine Everhart is a journalist. She did a story on Justin Hammer and also did "quite a spread" on Tony Stark as well. Her role in the future of Marvel's universe seems to be small if there is a future for her at all.

Harley Keener

Harley was just an ordinary kid interested in science when an injured Tony Stark stumbled into his garage. He helped Tony reassemble the Iron Man suit. After early rumors that he could be a young Star-Lord, that has been discounted and his future in Marvel's universe seems small if there is one at all.

Fletcher Heggs (The Knight)

Fletcher is a prison at Seasgate. In the comics he was a henchman who worked for Obadiah Stane. With Stane no longer alive, it does not seem like he has future in Marvel's universe.

Ho Yinsen

Yinsen was kidnapped by the Ten Rings organization around the same time they kidnapped Tony Stark. He helped keep Stark alive initially and then helped Stark build the Mark 1. He died at the hands of Raza trying to buy Tony some more time for his escape.

Raza

Raza was in charge of a group of the Ten Rings organization. He was paid by Obadiah Stane to kidnap Tony Stark and did so successfully. Unfortunately, Stark devised a plan to escape and burned Raza's face in the process. When Stane found out, he was unhappy and left Raza paralyzed and at the hands of his armed guards. He is believed to be dead.

Obadiah Stane (Iron Monger)

Obadiah Stane was the former CEO of Stark Industries. He wanted full control of the company so he paid Raza and his men to kidnap Tony Stark. When Tony escaped using the Mark 1, Obadiah wanted the suit to use as a weapon. After building his own suit, he battled Tony. The fight did not end well for Obadiah as he fell into the big arc reactor at Stark Industries and died.

Ivan Vanko (Whiplash)

Ivan Vanko was a russian scientist. His father helped Howard Stark develop the original arc reactor. After Tony Stark announced he was Iron Man, Vanko set out to get his revenge. He made his own reactor and attached two electric whips to it to become Whiplash. He teamed up with Justin Hammer to build suits that would rival Iron Man. While his suits were impressive, Iron Man and Iron Patriot defeated him.

Aldrich Killian

Killian was just a dorky looking scientist the first time he met Tony Stark. When Stark stood him up for a meeting, Killian wanted to someday get his revenge. He founded A.I.M. and through that company developed Extremis. After kidnapping Pepper Potts, he injected her with Extremis as well. Pepper was ultimately the one to kill Killian when Stark was struggling.

Phil Coulson

Phil Coulson has been through it all as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. So far in fact that he was killed by Loki and then revived using secret project T.A.H.I.T.I. that he helped form. His death was a driving force in getting the Avengers to team up. He has helped take down villains such as the Clairvoyant, Deathlok, Ian Quinn, Grant Ward, and Franklin Hall. He has a relationship with almost every person in Marvel's universe. He is currently the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and recruiting new agents to help rebuild the organization.
